A stay-at-home mother of three active band students, Emily earned her degrees in Psychology and Human Development from the University of Kansas. She values the continuity of leadership in the band program from 6th through 12th grade that allows the directors to ramp up students' skills in time management, performance under pressure, and contribution to a massive team production. Having watched her own children transition from 6th-grade beginners to intrinsically motivated musicians, Emily also believes that the repeated practice of auditioning is a powerful tool for building character and resilience. Her commitment to the Conway School community began with her work on the Theodore Jones Elementary PTO, and she is honored to serve on the board and support the remarkable leaders who invest so deeply in our musicians.
